TBH the entry requirements for virtue-signalling are a lot laxer than those for working in EA. I loathe Steve Bannon, but he's right about one thing: the more attention something gets, the fewer ppl it employs. Only a tiny minority of ppl will ever be employed in EA.
The @80000Hours job board lists over 130 openings in companies, think tanks, & academic centers affiliated with the Effective Altruism. If you want to do real, serious, long-term good rather than just virtue-signaling, this is the place to start.
