2) tl;dl: Any civilization that can't offer young people of average intelligence & conscientiousness a reasonable hope of finding a mate, having kids, doing meaningful work, & living in a cohesive community, is a failed civilization.
3) Politics is downstream from culture, but culture is downstream from sexual evolution, reproductive strategies, & mating markets.
4) Libertarians are good at warning about the unanticipated economic side-effects of laws, policies, & political attitudes. But who considers their unanticipated side-effects on mating markets, relationships, & reproduction -- which often matter more to people than money does?
5) Mainstream media promotes the view that 'politics = economics + social justice'. This obscures the deeper reproductive stakes. We've increased average GDP/capita, but if many people can't start families until their 30s (if ever), maybe there's more to a civilization than GDP
