Why won’t our media talk about global warming, the most important story in human history? An extinction level event that is bearing down on us faster and faster? It really is an insane and unparalleled dereliction of duty on the part of the media.

Decades to change our entire society and culture is not enough time to make the tectonic shifts in the zeitgeist that will be required to prevent mass climate death. Unless we start 10 years ago

I don't understand your logic. Thermonuclear extinction can cause extinction. Climate change WILL cause extinction. Both threats can exist. One is probable, the other is imminent. That's like saying, "Yeah, you're cancer will kill you, but the REAL threat is nuclear war."

But that’s a hypothetical; the other one - Climate Change - is actually happening

The issue with this is that global warming has already been linked to increasing conflict. The more that resources become increasingly scarce due to global warming the bigger likelihood of conflict spiraling out of control to nuclear warfare. Not to mention global warming itself.

That entirely misrepresents the science. According to the
@IPCC_CH’s SR 15, we must halve emissions in 12 yrs & cease them in 30 or else billions WILL die in my young son’s lifetime. -
.Nuclear war risk v.real but it's key to contrast its extra-ordinary possible causes to business-as-usual default path causing climate destabilisation & risking extinction-level runaway warming. Also, lowering nuclear risk is mere political leap vs. reorganising tech civilisation

Tomorrow vs a century or more. Yes, that is how people always evaluate risk. How likely is this threat to hurt me, me, me, me. From gun violence ( I don't hang with drug dealers) to climate change (meh , may not be true and we've got time if it is)
