Imagine if our government treated gun violence like it does terrorism. The security we’re put through to prevent a dozen deaths a year vs. anyone can walk in anywhere with any type of gun with military size magazines & massacre a dozen in seconds. Gov response? Thoughts & prayers
We already have a lot of gun control measures. Gun homicide rates are already way down compared to the early 90s. What additional controls do you suggest?

I'd suggest gun control measures like in Japan where acquisition AND continued ownership entails a lot of responsibility, expense and effort. Service industry could flourish around its implementation instead of just sales.

Basic principle being: assign commensurate responsibility to the freedom to be efficiently deadly.

I won't deny historical decline in overall trends, that is a good thing. It indicates that we're doing a lot of stuff right. That doesn't mean that we can't do more. I'm far from being an expert on American gun culture, yet a few suggestions spring to mind. No gun show loophole

You could do a lot of stuff, if you just really looked into it and then just went ahead with what needs to be done. Regardless of the damn politics. Some of the legislation will piss of a lot of people. So what. Most of the real bad shit goes under the radar.

Out millions of legal gun owners less the 2% ever are involved in a shooting. Most shootings are done by criminals that don't give a damn about gun laws. The majority of gun violence happens in cities, those cities have some the strictest gun laws.95%are illegal.

So, all I am saying is that yes, it sure is getting better in some ways, but also worse in other ways. Like frequency of mass shooting. People can do better than that.
