I really have no idea @primalpoly It seems hopeless with so many guns with the freedom we all want. Still, magazine size restriction would have reduced the carnage at Thousand Oaks nightclub. CA has laws but NRA fought to interfere so large magazines would still be available.https://twitter.com/primalpoly/status/1061306499815768064 …

That's actually the number I had in mind. Then I thought maybe half that might work Current military budget is about 600 billion. Maybe do it over 5 years? Then it is 1/20 th of that if %100 sell their weapons?

The tricky part will be erasing the knowledge of how to create new firearms. Other technologies make it relatively simple. Impossible to put any technology cat back in the bag, especially when someone is willing to break laws (hint: most murderers are).

How about focusing on gun trafficking? Require that all firearm sales (including private sales between individuals) be registered, with easy access to national no-sell lists. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/11/12/us/gun-traffickers-smuggling-state-gun-laws.html?mtrref=www.google.com …pic.twitter.com/Dqt38X8ZC8

Yeah sure. I imagine a multi-pronged approach is best.
