Imagine if our government treated gun violence like it does terrorism. The security we’re put through to prevent a dozen deaths a year vs. anyone can walk in anywhere with any type of gun with military size magazines & massacre a dozen in seconds. Gov response? Thoughts & prayers

You’re looking in the wrong direction. Don’t look at the guns. Look at hardening the targets.

One small example; in U.K., among all Home burglaries, somebody is home about 40% of the time. But in the U.S. it’s about 13%. Why, because in the U.S. the person who is at home might be armed.

I do. Sam Harris once or twice compared gun ownership with a pilot license. Sure, you can get one, but you have to go through a lot of psych assessment and training on safe use before you get it. A serious programme. Easy enough. Not a silver bullet but would save lives.

Wrong! The Sandy hook killer was known to have issues from the FBI down to local police. The guy that shot up a Church should have never had a gun. He was convicted of abuse.the USAF failed send his records to LEO's. The last guy, was give an pych exam in CA.

Given threat of 3D printed weapons, probably the only viable approach is regulating ammunition. A high fed tax on bullets. Mandatory backgr checks before buying anything larger than a BB, no gun show exceptions.

“Constitutional right”. There’s no such thing. Nonsense on stilts. Repeal the 2nd Amendment, which is ultimately an imagined fiction as Harari would put it.

I know most Americans have been indoctrinated from birth into “respecting the constitution” but it really didn’t come down from Mount Sinai. It was written by a bunch of people who should never have started a revolution in the first place.
