Most humans like eating meat. But how can we do that without imposing factory-farming suffering on billions of sentient animals every year? My pal @jacyreese has a great new book out today on how new technology & new ethics can overcome this dilemma. We can solve this.https://twitter.com/jacyanthis/status/1059855933424222209 …

I'm not convinced you can quantify suffering by number of animals. I'd rather eat a million chickens than eat this guy:pic.twitter.com/GJPuwf65h0

I refute your argument thusly.pic.twitter.com/rDEUuqP0zX

How do you define suffering? Chickens are much dumber than cows. An ant squirms and thrashes. Its behavior looks similar to that of a suffering human, but does it actually suffer at all? Does a creature that has no grasp of the concept of the suffering of others really suffer?
-
Will animals eventually be genetically engineered to want to be eaten? In some sense parasite manipulation of host behavior sometimes already does just that? Those that more willingly walk into the abbatoir will have their frozen germ cells activated?

eat single origin grassfed locally slaughtered beef = omega 3 vs the omega 6 from inflamed grained beef on stock yards.

When he says it's okay to eat fish, cause that fish could have gone and eat 10 other fishes. Does he knows thayt fish is also farmed? Does he knows that killing is not the main source of suffering? It's not clear that he does
