Is there any political psychology tweep who can point me to useful literature about how/when/why voters might be willing to vote against their own interests?

All of these, although they can all be reduced to individual interests. I vaguely remember an article about the motivations of people on medicare knowingly voting against medicare, but I can't remember where or who wrote it.
