Supremely entertaining and important debate between @davidfrum and Steve Bannon. I strongly hope Frum's message prevails. Liberalism is damaged and needs reform. But divisive populism is not the answer.

Liberalism prevailed during the period of the greatest progress, moral and economic, in history (roughly 1750-2008). It is flawed, doubtless. But I think a moderate nationalism coupled with tighter borders and slightly increased economic redistribution is a sufficient corrective.
It's important to distinguish liberalism within a unified national culture, versus in a multicultural society where not everyone shares Enlightenment values. The former has a longer track record than the latter.
