1)From my humble experiece: When I get a work that is too big and complicated to discourage me, I try to do it by small portions often even not systematically connected.And oftenly do http://pauses.Now I'v done this, now - that.Yeserday this, today that.

2)And in the end I see the big part of the work done.And not too much left.Then I do decisive spurt.
