We don't need any more 'thought leaders'. We need more 'thought followers' who take their own thoughts seriously, and follow them wherever they lead -- without fear, self-deception, or self-censorship.

Why not both? It's good to have people who have interesting ideas. Who want to share them. And it's good to have listeners who don't follow every word. But are people who can think for themselves.
Partly here I'm making fun of the self-appointed 'thought leaders' who tend to give TED talks, and who often don't follow their thoughts where they could really lead...
