Oh they care. Maybe not so much at the government level, but they care that Asians in general are discriminated against because many people from Asia try (very hard) to get their children into Ivy League schools

Without a doubt, the Harvard discrimination issue is one of the most frequently talked about issues among the academically elite Chinese on WeChat.

Wife is Chinese, I did all the immigration paperwork myself for a spousal visa. She has a PhD from HKU, so an academic. She went to an elite foreign language middle school and high school in China that has many alumni making it to Ivy League universities....

She has several former classmates who graduated from Harvard, MIT, etc. Even among those who didn’t graduate from Harvard, etc., they talk about this issue often, even if they still live in China.

So, I can’t speak for all Chinese, the people my wife talks to are very elite, but among the kinds of people she talks to, it’s definitely a major topic of concern for them.

Interesting. I appreciate the further info. I'd be surprised if it wasn't a major topic of concern, TBH.
