I take from this that you are an "anti-deather", a position which I've noticed has come into vogue for libertarians on FB and Twitter. Most will inpugn the term "meaning", but that is simply sloppy terminology. What is meant is "context".

What is the “anti-deather” position, exactly? Is it tied to an interest in longevity technology/medicine, or something else?
-
It's opposition to what Aubrey de Grey calls the 'pro-death trance' -- the view that assumes death is good and worth saving just because we're used to it happening. It's the main obstacle to funding longevity research.

How is this inhumane or unethical? What it means is that knowing your impermanence in life should motivate you to cherish every second of it. Not to live your life in fear of the inevitability of death.

Your intense hatred of mortality is understandable but not an intellectually defensible position.

What’s the dumbest, most ill-advised, most asinine tweet I’ve seen today? Taking a movie quote completely out of context while entirely missing the point

Memento mori. You’re not going to escape it no matter how smart or successful you think you are.

Not a fan of the Buddhist approach? Contemplating death need not be morbid, & instructions on meditating on death can lead to rich appreciation & acceptance I find that contemplating that one day I will live my last half an hour gives me a heightened presence for this 30 minutespic.twitter.com/WNz7LoZhUl

Buddhism and Stoicism work pretty well together

That's probably one of the better lines in that movie because it is so bland lol. "Life is short and finite so appreciate it" is generic advice sure, but I fail to see how that is unethical unless I'm missing another meaning.
-
It's not saying life is short. Its saying death serves not only an important function (true) but a positive one (false). Imagine this as a response to say... The germ theory of disease and you'll notice what It's getting wrong.
-
Death doesn't give life a meaning, it gives it an often painful end. The quote implies that pursuing ways of staving off death Mandarin life of its purpose. It's pretty immoral when you think about it.
-
Ah, yeah I didn't think it would be that insipid lol. I really didn't like that movie, but if that's the intended meaning, it's just that much worse!
