Geof do ya think their is a geographical variance? I lived in Houston quiet a while I never heard a mexican refer to themselves or other mexicans as "spanish" not even obliquely.
Yes, the terms used vary a lot across areas. New Mexico self descriptions likely quite different from Texas ones.
