Question I keep going back to on this, is just how strong is the pull of convenience? Most ppl who said they would boycott Google never did (&never will) -risk of being caught not doing so is too low, convenience of Google too high. How bad does it have to get for that to change?

I have used DuckDuckGo for about a month now for search and found it satisfactory. Which hurts Google not at all, admittedly.

If I were to spin this I’d say it is an effort to purge their version of aggression. And that can morph and be stricter over time. This is concerning. But does it affect free exchange of ideas? Looks like a war against ‘tone’. Which is an opaque property of communication.
