In my high school it was slang for appearing to lie at a confirmation proceeding, while actually telling the truth. We were extremely prescient.
FWIW, in my high school, the 'Devil's Triangle' referred to taking Calculus AP, Physics AP, and Latin AP at the same time.

I almost, sort of, kind of, DID THAT except my Latin wasn’t AP, but... I was taking college Chem, Lit, and, Western Civ at the same time, so regular Latin was more than enough.
Maybe I was in the Devil’s Pentagon?
