It's the ultimate comfort food for the mind -- conveniently justify everything you want to agree with, dismiss away everything you don't, paralyze past grievances and use them as fuel to abdicate yourself of any self-responsibility, pass off any failures via victimhood mentality
Indoctination is easier than education. Indoctrination doesn't require any - prerequisites - studying to learn things - practicing to master skills - rational debate - exams that some might fail This may explain something about American higher education.
