Many people call his support for Trump bizarre because it happened directly after Kanye was hospitalized for a mental breakdown. Longtime fans of Kanye also know that his behavior has changed, his speech is slower, his music releases are subpar in comparison to pre-MAGA Kanye.
Kanye has, I think, admitted that he has bipolar mood swings. Many people in the creative arts do. Should high-functioning people who happen to have mental disorders stay silent about political matters?

Mood swings arent always bipolar. Just a friendly psa, you have dominant personalities in the arts many with underlying conduct, narcissism and identity issues. These things can cause "mood swings" too. But regardless, they all are entitled to free speech and political belief.

I think people absolutely have the right to express their opinions. But everyone else has the right to judge those opinions based not only on what those people say, but also on who they are as individuals, their history of mental illness & how they have coped with it. 1/2

The stigma attached to mental illness exists for many reasons. It’s unfortunate but has been necessary for the protection of those who have to care for the mentally ill, high functioning or not, it inevitably colors our perceptions. 2/2

Being undiagnosed and bipolar can easily lead to self-destructive behavior, which will come in various forms...Inmany instances, it doesn’t even begin to get better without outside help.
