While you are correct about the cosmopolitan disregard for tradition and religion, In my experience, urbanites are much, MUCH more interested in freedom and optimism
Depends on what freedoms you're talking about, and optimism about what.

Optimism that human ingenuity can spur innovations that will improve the future for everyone and the freedom to pursue those innovations.

There's also the optimism to actually have kids and grandkids, and the freedom to preserve one's civilizational traditions. Also important.
