People like Tom Nichols are so dense that they don’t realize they don’t even need to go out to the sticks to see people who think differently. He just needs to go to an inner city minority, Protestant church to discover people who have totally different values & ways of life.

I live in rural Texas only 3 miles outside of our town. We DO NOT have access to high speed unlimited internet. Wireless cellphone data plans (still not entirely unlimited) and Satellite Internet (definitely not unlimited) are our only two options. No cable TV either.

I know your post was more about religion, but you readers shouldn’t assume high speed internet is a given like I did when we lived in OR, MI, VA, PA, and even Germany. Rural life in the South really is different than anywhere else.

Agreed, and quite a significant slice of the current cosmopolitan elite grew up rural, but left, in part, for that very reason.
