The real 'culture war' isn't about Left vs. Right, or libertarians vs. authoritarians. It's about people who try to think past 2050 vs. people who can't think past 2020.

I have to call bullshit on this one - the no. people in the US who actually take time to read and think about life beyond 2050 is negligible and vast majority of them are unlikely to feel a major stake in soft gooey projections.
You think nobody thinks about how things will be for their kids and grand-kids one generation from now?

I think vast majority of Americans are just thinking about getting through the most immediate challenges to their way of life - and maybe a decade ahead in very loose terms.

They may have some anxieties about 2050s but it’s not driving their politics or tribal affiliations.
