If these companies continue to grow unrestrained, we will end up living in a "virtual machine" that shields us from the laws governing the system it runs on. We will end up living in an authoritarian system with arbitrary and inconsistently applied laws which we cannot change.

A constitutional democracy must make sure that its justice monopoly remains intact. If private monopolies or cartels insulate the majority of the population from the rule of law then they must be broken up.
