Do you have a true arch-nemesis?
In all the discussions people like @jordanbpeterson, @BretWeinstein, @benshapiro and I are having about the importance of archetypes, almost no one I meet has chosen an arch-nemesis.

I have plenty of intellectual nemeses who I have repeated imaginary arguments with, but mostly they're either dead or have never heard of me. Folks like Stephen Jay Gould, Howard Gardner, Oliver James, Judith Butler, Steven Rose, Plato, Descartes, Freud, etc.
So do I, but I pick silly topics that are not in their area of expertise.
As one who was a fan of Gould early on, only to be bitterly disappointed by his partisan fraud at the end.. it seems Gould is more of a cautionary tale than true nemesis for you. Just saying...

In Descartes' case, you can argue with his ghost, I suppose. I regularly argue with his coordinate system but tend to blame Euclid.
This is a good point, the present world has yet to show a Nemesis who can hold my interest. I more find my self arguing with the views of past masters.
