Sadly, 'helping the homeless' and 'building preschools' are among the least cost-effective ways to promote sentient welfare. I wish rich people would consult with @GiveWell and @open_phil on the most evidence-based, highest-impact ways to give. A few billion could save millions.

How about clean drinking water in Appalachia? Sure, it would be expensive, but help far more people than some homeless in Seattle. Clean water means healthy, productive kids, less money spent on healthcare.
