Why does it sound like @RubinReport has a drunken an entire jug of #Conservative-flavored Koolaid?
The US Constitution's finer sections are the amendments (eg.BILL OF RIGHTS). And are they not the result of "more laws" being needed to reflect the changing zeitgeist?

Hate to brake this to you, but here in South Africa we've learnt the hard way: the constitution is supposed to protect it's citizens, as soon as a call for the opposite is heard, the alarm bells should already be sounding. It's a slippery slope

1/3 The US Constitution is the document that forms our Republic. It's written to those in the Govt. The people need to read it to keep the Govt in check. There are protections (B.O.R.) not rights in the Constitution. B.O.R. are instructions to not infringe on our rights.

No - the goverment is supposed to protect your Rights. That's the point of the goverment.

What does that even mean if nobody knows what the rights are, and no earthly power actually enforces them consistently? Sounds mystical.
