If psychology is heritable, Why would you need a therapist? Just have someone the decode the genetics.
Ideally, therapy isn't about changing your traits. It's about developing life skills to make the most of them, given one's environment.

Is this just a question of how you are defining your terms? If a psychological attribute can be modified, you simply don’t use the word “trait,” instead you call it something else like a “skill.” The word “trait” by definition refers only to attributes that rely only on genetics.
