Not sure about the tech culture part - there’s plenty of folks here who just want families like in any other industry. Housing rules all decisions - and housing issues are not caused by ‘tech’.

I was wondering about this just this past week, whether our tech industries have long term dysgenic effects. Just a small % of the population is capable of doing what these men and women do, and we use them to the point of exhaustion to get fancier gadgets and apps.

I think this has more to do with economics than tech culture -- too many high-paying jobs concentrated in a small location. In fact it's probably just the extreme version of what's happening to affluent nations in general.
