Two choices as far as I can see. 1. Tell businesses what they must and must not sell - can’t see that appealing to libertarians. 2. Try to break up online oligopolies so their private decisions have less impact on contents of public discourse - can’t see how this would work.
3. use public pressure and consumer awareness to nudge the company to behave ethically, like I've been trying to do. Corporate PR is a thing, after all.

Fair point - you’re then fighting PR with PR. But it is an unhappy vision of the future: publishers making decisions based on twitter storms for and against books or authors. Survival of the shrillest would be a depressing principle for the publishing world.
