For any chance of being relevant again, Democrats need to: 1. Stop pandering to the authoritarian Left. 2. Stop conflating “Right” w “extreme-Right”. 3. Reconfigure core values around environment, education, labor. Embrace science, indvdl ability, compassion for those in need.
Ideally, also
4) embrace @Effect_Altruism attitudes, values, methods
5) offer inspiring long-term vision beyond just 'promote diversity, fight oppression' - like 'colonize Mars, promote longevity so we don't all have to die before we want to'

These are all excellent ideas, I believe they are applicable with society as a whole and not just to the election cycle. We need to get our priorities straight.

I was thinking the other day that the Dems should systematically and scientifically take on job (re)training bc its a social service and yet also directly encourages independence, work, fixes gaps in meritocracy, etc It would appeal to many MAGAers and garner more of their votes

Not gonna happen. They’re going to keep pulling ever farther left and then fracture in two. It’s already happening. All the right had to do is stay the course and let it happen. Not sure if it has the guts.
