Sorry to sound saccharine, but people on the right need to do the same with the work of thoughtful people on the left (and the first step is not to say that's an oxymoron).https://medium.com/s/greatescape/nuance-a-love-story-ae6a14991059 …

Not only does it not represent the best thinkers, it doesn’t represent the best Leftist *arguments*. The Left has no shortage of brilliance, but suffers from a profound lack of courage.

There are some very brave and penetrating thinkers on the left (including Thomas Frank - I’d also nominate
@kenanmalik ), but they tend to get shouted down by the simplistic populists and tribalists. - 1 more reply

Please recommend the best Thomas Frank title. Am eager to test my own thinking.

It's also somewhat comforting to know that the vast majority of everyday people on the left have hardly heard of Critical Race Theory or the views of radical postmodernism and comfortably argue for enlightenment values in their daily lives.
-
Just because there are thousands of towns in the south that a gay person would feel terrified to be openly gay in, still, it isn't fair to treat this fact as representative of the right. Treating the left as if it is in the grip of postmodernism, as Peterson et al do, is wack.
