A lot of profs totally dismiss my concerns about political bias. But then I'm warned, when going on the job market, not to mention conservative interests in my research statement, and even to bury actual publications in my CV, or leave them out, because they are not PC.
Many academic job ads even demand 'evidence of a commitment to values of diversity, inclusion, and equity', which is a dog whistle for 'don't even bother applying if you can't prove you're a liberal'.

You're calling out the *National Centre for Institutional Diversity* for asking applicants to state their credentials with regards to institutional diversity? And using that as evidence of left-wing academic *dog whistling*? That's just... daft.

In my small niche field, almost every ad is promoted this way. If the position is not outright ideological (critical scholars only) then these affirmative action qualifiers filter out the rest. Some even reward bringing in minority students and mandate that as part of the job.
I'm not disputing that these words are used to signal progressive values, but do you really want to take a stand against them? We may disagree about how each of these should be pursued, but would you seriously prefer that universities promote homogeneity, exclusion, and inequity?

Those three words are bulit into course outcomes and descriptions now. You can be openly pro American, Christian or GOP. You will never get hired by default
