Objectively, a gov't banning a whole academic field is much worse than YouTube banning an individual.
And I say this as an academic who thinks most gender studies theories are utter nonsense that have been empirically disproven by thousands of studies.
The principle should be the focus, and the precedent is what's alarming about it. If anyone disagrees, imagine if the American government decided to cut funding to any university that teaches evolution, because they ideologically object to it as Hungary objects to gender studies.
