If your blockchain-based thing actually puts the data on the chain, then as soon as you get significant usage, the decentralization will degrade. You don't want every node having a copy of all the data. Blockchains are *replicated* data structures, not *distributed* ones.
Sounds like you know a lot more than me about this. I'm no blockchain expert; I just like the idea of decentralizing the platform enough that it cannot be censored.

Which is an excellent thing to push for! The danger of the various cargo-cult-blockchain things is that they use a blockchain without capturing the parts that make it work well. The result of which is that they will *look* like they have useful properties (because blockchain!)

and will even act like they're working until they fail catastrophically. Actual decentralization is hard to measure, and you won't know you've screwed it up until you discover the relevant parties have been served with a court order (or had their Internet access cut off).
