We need a new social norm that if a politician claims to have a great new budget idea, they share their Excel spreadsheet so everyone can have a good hard look at it. And by 'everyone', I mean forensic accountants. You know, the ones trained to detect fraud.
It just amuses me to imagine politicians being held accountable for their accounting. One can dream.

"...imagine politicians being held accountable for their accounting..." Yes! Trump's proverbial excuse when asked to show proof for his claims is "I am hearing..."as he did after saying Obama's unemployment numbers were as high as 42%! "People are saying..." is not a receipt.
