A possibly unpopular opinion: In most cases, it's a cheap rhetorical trick to label people's distaste/dislike of something "fear." eg: "afraid of smart women," "homophobia" (TBC I think many of these distastes are misguided & harmful. But calling them "fears" is rhetoric.)

How different are fear and disgust neurologically? Doesn't disgust have some fear in it, like anti-pathogen disgust is actually fear of pathogen? Sorry, maybe it's a stupid question
