I quite like that idea actually. One of the reason why metros tend to choose an "M" is probably because people tend to associate the letter with a metro system?

Eh.. we do. In the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Rotterdam etc) and the rest of Europe, you don’t dail 911. You call 112. And there is more outside the US..! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_emergency_telephone_numbers …

Think its only the US that use 911. UK 999, Europe 112

I think in most of the US and Canada, you dial 911 for emergencies. If that doesn't work, you dial 0 for the telephone operator who will then connect to emergency services.
