I wish that the NY journalists would just stop writing for a couple of weeks every summer, drive across America, and talk with some ordinary folks. Maybe even listen. Go to some ranges, sing in some churches, get to know their fellow citizens. Might help.

I’ve never met a reporter who had contempt for “ordinary folks.” But I’ve seen plenty of hate going the other way.
