I wish that the NY journalists would just stop writing for a couple of weeks every summer, drive across America, and talk with some ordinary folks. Maybe even listen. Go to some ranges, sing in some churches, get to know their fellow citizens. Might help.

If they're not open to the possibility that they might change their minds about a few things, then the exercise would be worthless.
