I wish that the NY journalists would just stop writing for a couple of weeks every summer, drive across America, and talk with some ordinary folks. Maybe even listen. Go to some ranges, sing in some churches, get to know their fellow citizens. Might help.

Dude there have literally been endless profiles of the middle American and southern salt of the earth trumpers out there in The NY Times and elsewhere over the last year or so. Not sure how you missed them all.
Patronizing ethnographies of 'The Trump Voter' aren't the same as actually spending time with fellow citizens.
