I’ve seen it argued that the women who support socialism support it because it removes the need for a male provider, giving women with children more power. What you’re saying sounds like the opposite of the above argument.

Most women are married and have no desire to be single mothers. A small increase in support for those who are, at the expense of a huge amount of suffering for all women.
