Call center AI (about which Google made announcement today) is 1 of the only plausible ways that AI could have a big/fast employment impact soon. No robots needed--"just" decent dialogue + connections to APIs--and admits partial automation (humans brought in to address failures).

Companies deploying not-yet-good bots as the initial interaction point is super annoying already, especially considering many don't let you skip the bot as it keeps complaining about not understanding you and making you repeat. Even worse for non-native speakers.
