In Canada we have hate speech laws. You are free to say whatever you want in privacy of home etc. But once you start disseminating it, trying to have public platform, Its not protected. No Blind devotion to free speech at all costs/at expense of vulnerable & social cohesion.
So you have free speech only in private, when it can't influence other people or public discourse or politics? Like in Soviet Russia? Good for you.

We have reasonable limits: Advocating genocide, distributing hate propoganda, publicly advocating hatred and promoting hatred are against our hate speech laws that have been upheld by our supreme court. Hate is defined very specifically. Its not about offensive words etc.
