The essay is wrongheaded; scientists should seek truth. Your position on global warming is wrongheaded, especially for a guy who considers himself an "effective altruist." Anthropogenic global warming will be one of the largest mass extinctions on earth ever.

I'm not an academic. I just like to be right and make money when the people who disagree with me are wrong. But if you are as half as smart and open-minded as you claim to be, the extinction event claim should be fairly easy for you to verify on your own.
