Is it OK to believe that the best way to help people in poor countries is to leverage exchange rates in donations and help them build stronger institutions where they already are?
You can believe all kinds of things, and be less ill than those who don't see in their mind's eye what they say is Right. If you say "It's awful, but I think a more effective policy than letting people through is turning them back and..." then that's a different way of thinking.
