This is one of those findings where people say 'Obvious!'. But it's useful to document things that seem obvious, so policy wonks, who pay more attention to science than to 'common sense', don't ignore the obvious.

On the bureaucratic utility of obvious studies: It is actually worsethan that. They often know obvious things as much as you or I would, they however require a stamp of scientism to justify their call.

I think in many cases confirmation bias really undercuts the Obvious! position people take. You could suggest people care less about female suffering and people would also declare Obvious!
