Imagine someone with a degree in childhood development telling you they can raise your kids better than you can, because they're an expert with a degree. That is called an "Appeal to Authority," and it's a common logical fallacy.

Also, developmental & educational psychology have very mixed track records with their theories & findings, which are often politically & ideologically biased. For example, they've often ignored genetic influences on behavior.
