I polled people for topics to discuss with @SamHarrisOrg. #2 Define God. OK. God is that in which we manifest necessary faith. Necessary because interpretations have to start somewhere. This is Kant's objection to Hume's empiricism (an empiricism to which Harris adheres?)
Maybe interpretations are grounded in our evolved perceptual, cognitive, and emotional adaptations, not in theology?

Doesn't negate what he said and is still an empirical argument. "Evolved adaptions" still lead many to ground their interpretations in some form of theology.

Most like likely true. But maybe we evolved to better distinguish insightful allegory from objective truth long after these allegories began to dominate culture.
