How is violence against women 'accepted' by Western societies when we have laws and severe punishments against domestic violence, rape, trafficking, etc? The claim makes no sense.

The problem is also the definition of domestic violence. Yes, there are genuine victims, but there are far more instances of mutual violence being interpreted as male on female violence. The Dunedin Study reported this. Ditto many other studies.

Re: filicide women are actually more prone to it, albeit by a small margin. I've actually seen academics defend this by saying, "women are left with children more often." That may be true, but it's not adequate. Free-range parenting would help, but it's not happening fast enough.
