Flying to Australia for a panel discussion on free speech. It's odd that Australia has no bill of rights, no general right to free speech, & only a weak 'implied' right to freedom of political speech. For all of America's troubles, I'm grateful for #1A.

I want to find out more about the 'culture of free speech', which can be quite different from the laws about free speech....
I find it fairly creepy that, in freedom of opinion/speech debates, far-left people will often retort with this fact in such a way to make it clear that they are -quite- thrilled about it. p.s. thanks for coming to talk.
I would take culture over constitutional amendments every time

Freedom in spite of our rather glaring faults. Not pretty, but pretty free.
The recent conviction of #Countdankula in the UK was rather shocking in this regard with the judge deciding context was irrelevant. Would be interested to hear the views down under on this.
