Could have benefited from an economics consultant to point out that human slavery makes no sense in a universe where robots can do anything. Not clear how droids can manage the work of an entire infantry division but child labor is needed to sweep up animal stables.

It's Space Opera not Hard Sci-Fi. Faster than light speeds are possible yet projectile weapons are used :) It's all entertainment.

Scary thought, particularly since entertainment = education, these days.

I wonder if the economic recession and possibly depression that resulted after the destruction of the very expensive Death Star, caused frustrated ppl to join the rebellion. Or perhaps more likely, how many new recruits did they get at the Imperial Academy?

Banks must have taken a real hit after DS destruction. I suppose the 2nd one would have created a lot of permanent nad even more temporary jobs.
